COMPARISON
Best Eisenhower matrix apps for iPhone and iPad (2026)
By Coleton Gorecke, who makes Intent
Last updated: · Next review:
For a plain Eisenhower matrix on iPhone and iPad, Eisenhower and Focus Matrix are the closest fits, and Focus Matrix also has a Mac app.
Priority Matrix is the pick for teams, and TickTick suits people who want a matrix view inside a full to-do app.
Intent is for people who want the matrix to turn into a short plan for today and a nightly reflection, on iPhone and iPad.
I make Intent, so read my take on it with that in mind.
Every fact about the other apps comes from its App Store listing or its own website, checked on November 3, 2026.
Prices are US prices on that day and may differ where you live.

The apps
Eisenhower
- Best for
- People who want the classic four-box matrix and little else, on iPhone and in a browser.
- In practice
- If you plan on your phone and want the same sheet in a browser at work, the free web app syncs with the iPhone app in real time.
- The matrix
Four quadrants named Do First, Schedule, Delegate and Don't Do, with a suggested limit of eight tasks per sheet.
- What stands out
- It has refined one method since 2011. The eight-task limit keeps each sheet short, and it syncs in real time with a free web app.
- Limitations
- Removing ads, dark mode, and task details such as due dates and notes all need the paid General plan, so the free plan is bare.
- Paid features
- Ad removal, dark mode, a task inbox, and task details such as due dates and notes need the paid General plan.
- Not for
- People who need due dates, notes or dark mode on a free plan.
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, web, Apple silicon Mac
- Price
- Free plan. Paid plans $58.80 or $118.80 a year
- Last update
- November 2, 2026 (version 3.1.0)
Focus Matrix
- Best for
- Apple users who want a matrix on iPhone, iPad and Mac and would rather pay once.
- In practice
- If you use an iPhone, an iPad and a Mac and would rather pay $34.99 once than every month, Pro adds sync and calendar sync.
- The matrix
A matrix view or a list of sections, an Unsorted inbox for new tasks, and drag and drop between quadrants.
- What stands out
- Tasks can move to Urgent on their own as a deadline nears, or when a linked task is done. It also exports to PDF and can lock behind Face ID.
- Limitations
- Sync between devices and calendar sync are Pro features. The Mac app was last updated in September 2025.
- Paid features
- Pro adds sync across devices, calendar sync, and the Be Focused integration.
- Not for
- People who want sync between devices on the free version.
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Mac
- Price
- Free. Pro $2.99 a month, $17.99 a year, or $34.99 once
- Last update
- June 26, 2026 on iPhone (version 2.1.1), September 5, 2025 on Mac
Eisenhower Matrix: Todo & Task
- Best for
- People on the latest Apple software who want a simple matrix with recurring tasks and reminders.
- In practice
- If you run iOS 26 and want recurring tasks and deadline notifications in a plain four-quadrant grid, this one has them.
- The matrix
Four numbered quadrants, with drag and drop between them and color filters.
- What stands out
- You can drag tasks between quadrants and color them, and it has recurring tasks, deadlines and notifications.
- Limitations
- It needs iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or macOS 26, so older devices cannot run it. The listing does not say which features need a paid plan.
- Paid features
- The listing does not say which features are paid.
- Not for
- Devices that cannot run iOS 26, or people who want a clear list of free and paid features.
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro
- Price
- Free. $2.99 a month, $17.99 a year, or $39.99 lifetime
- Last update
- October 25, 2026 (version 2.7.2)
Intent
Intent (formerly PrioriPlanner) · intent-app.com
- Best for
- People who want the matrix to decide what today is for, not only to sort a list.
- In practice
- If you sort tasks into four boxes but still start the morning unsure what to do first, you pick three to five for today and the rest wait.
- The matrix
Do Now, Schedule, Delegate and Eliminate, plus an Anytime bucket for someday tasks. You can rename the quadrants and filter by area.
- What stands out
- Each morning you pick three to five things for today. A nightly reflection fills a year heatmap. Apple Calendar sync shows tasks beside your day.
- Limitations
- No Mac app yet. No Android or web app, and no shared projects. Calendar sync is Apple Calendar only.
- Paid features
- Recurring tasks, reminders, time blocking, the focus timer and the year heatmap need Premium.
- Not for
- Mac, Android or web users, teams, or anyone whose calendar is not Apple Calendar.
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad
- Price
- Free tier. Premium $6.99 a month, $29.99 a year, or $99.99 lifetime
- Last update
- Intent 3.0 is coming to the same App Store listing as PrioriPlanner, which is still on version 2.1.5
Priority Matrix
Appfluence · appfluence.com
- Best for
- Managers and small teams who set priorities together on shared projects.
- In practice
- If you manage a small team across Mac, Windows and Android, everyone can work from the same project matrix.
- The matrix
Every project is its own four-quadrant matrix, which you can also see in a calendar, or as a Gantt chart on a paid plan.
- What stands out
- You can assign tasks, share notes and files, comment, and read daily, weekly and monthly reports. One license covers nearly every platform.
- Limitations
- It is priced for work, not personal use. The free plan stops at 5 projects and 100 open tasks. The iPhone app was last updated in January 2025.
- Paid features
- The free plan caps projects (5), open tasks (100) and teammates (5), and turns off the Gantt chart and reports.
- Not for
- Solo planners on a budget, since Pro costs $14.99 a month.
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows, Android, web, Outlook, Teams
- Price
- Free plan. Pro $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year
- Last update
- January 8, 2025 (version 4.3.5)
TickTick
- Best for
- People who want one app for tasks, calendar, habits and focus, with the matrix as one view among many.
- In practice
- If you already keep tasks, a calendar and habits in one app, you can turn on the matrix view and sort what is there by priority.
- The matrix
An optional matrix view, off by default, that sorts tasks by priority, or by priority and due date. You can edit each quadrant's rules.
- What stands out
- It sits on a full to-do app with calendar views, habits and a Pomo timer. Quadrant rules can use lists, tags, dates and priorities.
- Limitations
- You have to turn the matrix on in settings. Quadrants follow priority levels, so the grid is only as useful as the priorities you set.
- Paid features
- Premium adds more lists, tasks and reminders, full calendar views and Smart Lists. The listing does not say if the matrix needs it.
- Not for
- People who want an app that is only a matrix.
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac
- Price
- Free. Premium $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year
- Last update
- October 30, 2026 on iPhone (version 8.2.41)
Todoist
- Best for
- Todoist users who want to try the method without switching apps.
- In practice
- If you already use Todoist, you can set up four filters that follow the help center guide, with no new app.
- The matrix
No built-in matrix. Todoist's help center shows how to build one from four filters, using priorities P1 to P4 or urgent and important labels.
- What stands out
- Quick capture in plain language, plus list, board and calendar views. The matrix is a set of saved filters, so it works anywhere Todoist does.
- Limitations
- The four quadrants are four separate filter views, not one grid. The free plan allows 3 filter views, so the full matrix needs Pro.
- Paid features
- The free plan allows 3 filter views and Pro allows 150, so a full four-filter matrix needs Pro.
- Not for
- People who want all four quadrants on one screen, or a matrix on the free plan.
- Platforms
- iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac
- Price
- Free plan. Pro $6.99 a month or $59.99 a year
- Last update
- November 2, 2026 on iPhone (version 26.10.35)
How to choose
- Start with your devices. If you need Windows or Android, Priority Matrix covers both. If you need a Mac app today, Intent is not there yet.
- If you only want the four boxes, try Eisenhower, Focus Matrix or Eisenhower Matrix: Todo & Task. They do one job.
- If you plan with a team, Priority Matrix is the one built for that.
- If you want one app for everything, TickTick has a real matrix view. If you already live in Todoist, build the matrix from filters before you switch.
- If you want the matrix to become a plan for today and a record of how your week went, try Intent.
- Check what the free tier leaves out. Sync, due dates and filters are paid in some of these apps.
How I picked these
I have not used the other apps myself.
For each one I read its App Store listing, its website and its pricing page on November 3, 2026, and wrote down what those pages say.
An app is on this page when:
- It sorts tasks into the four urgent and important boxes, either built in or built from filters.
- It runs on iPhone and has a listing in the US App Store.
- I could confirm its features and price from its own pages.
I ordered the apps from single-purpose matrix apps to team and all-in-one apps, not by price or by my preference.
Intent is on the list because I make it. It follows the same order, and its limits are listed like everyone else's.
